The symbol pill and search

The pill at the top left holds your active symbol. Set it once and it follows you across every product and across reloads. Click it to search, with category chips for stocks, funds, indices, and contracts; the Contracts tab searches the option chain itself (type a strike to jump to it), and your recent picks are kept.

One product behaves differently on purpose. On Trade Tape the pill filters the tape (∗ means all symbols), and that choice never leaks into Expo or Heat.
